Shark Tank Reflection

PART A: Find pictures and videos to add to your blog. This should take no more than 10 minutes.

  1.

PART B: Answer the following questions on your blog. When you are done answering the questions, publish your blog post.

  1. Think about the work and effort your team members have put into this project:
    1. What are some examples of what your classmates did that helped you learn? Please include at least three and elaborate (explain more) about how they helped.
My classmates help me to learn about how to make candles. And how hard it is to do something for all of us to all collaborate. Also, how hard it is to separate money and set the right price.

  1. How would you describe your work and cooperation? Did you contribute regularly as your group worked together?
    1. What are some examples you did in the classroom that you believe has helped other people learn? Patents, copyrights, and trademark.
    2. What were you particularly good at during group work? I work well with other and don’t complain if other don’t do their work but try to do my best.
    3. How did your contribution change over the time your group worked together? Please tell us a full story about how your roles changed or developed and your work ethic either grew stronger or weaker. First, we all work, but over time, other people start to play games and stuff and left us to work alone.
    4. How can you take what you have learned about the process of working together on a creative project and apply it in the future? If I open a business, I will choose smart people who will work well. And will set good prices and work well with other.

  1. What were your favorite parts of the Shark Tank project for:
    1. Phase 1: in phase one, I like that I was able to make my own product
    2. Phase 2: in phase two, I like that we work together and sold out our candle in just a little time.

shark tank reflection

  1. Summarize the process of selecting a topic for your Shark Tank 7 project.
I make a stress ball. First, I and Sunny have a very different idea, a tracking device, and a ball. But I know that a tracking device is too hard to make, so I decided that we would stick with sunny's idea. We have tried to change it to a spinner, but a lot of people is making a spinner so we stick with the idea of a stress ball. But our stress ball is not normal, it is magnetic. We first didn't think that it would be magnetic until Sunny brought his magnet to class and we thought that we should make it magnetic but we don't even know my we thought that.

2. Describe the process of researching and your overall success or struggle with researching your topic for Shark Tank 7.
From our research, the product should be somehow eco-friendly or reusable, biodegradable and other things that are good for or help the earth. But stress ball is usually not really helps the earth or good for the earth. So we need to find something about the stress ball that is good or that is better than another stress ball. So we spend time researching until when we found out that we can say that normal stress ball is made of polyurethane foam rubber which is bad for the environment which our is not. But still, the balloon, the magnet, the glue are all not good for the earth. So our problem is to find ways to make our product "look" good for the environment. And lastly, we overcome it by not talking about it in our presentation but stick to the good things which are that it is not made from polyurethane foam rubber.

3. Describe the steps taken and overall challenges in completing or creating your Shark Tank prototype.
The challenge about our prototype is the quality of balloon and our knowledge about to do you put liquid inside balloon but still doesn't pop. We spend a week making 1 prototype. Because out stress ball keeps popping on and on. Until we realized that we shouldn't put the liquid in too full in the balloon, but we need to leave some air inside. And also, we need to use balloons that are quite thick to helps it also so prevent popping.

4. Reflect on your overall presentation experience or struggles with completing the pitch for your shark Tank 7.
Our struggle would be the time. Because we are supposed to each have 1 minute but I spoke for around 1 and a half minute that Sunny doesn't have time to speak. But luckily, he forgot his script and so he used only 30 seconds.
But forgetting his script is also bad because he didn't really talk about the environmentally friendly part and so our score dropped.

5. How would you present differently for Speak Out/the formal Shark Tank presentation?
I would remember my script better and talk faster and have more control and don't struggle.

SS map of age of exploration reflection

Describe where the above languages originated and the movement of them to other areas. Based on the map and language research, what can you conclude about how exploration has affected the world? What might it have looked like before Europeans set sail?

the language I have in my map is Russian, English, french, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Hindi and Arabic

Russian didn't spread anywhere and stay in the country. But Russia is already bigger than most country so even though it didn't spread, it is already big.

English spread all over the world but didn't spread a lot in a part of the world. In America, it spread to northern America and some parts of Africa, mostly the south Africa part, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Liberia, and ghana.

French spread a lot also, mostly in Africa. The middle parts of Africa such as Zambia, Botswana, republic of congo, central African republic and the west part like niger, mali, Togo, Burkina Faso, and Benin.

Spanish, even though the country it is small, it spread a lot bigger than it own country to the west part of south America. Countries near the Andes Mountain such as Chili, Peru, Argentina, Bolivia, and Colombia.

Portuguese also is a very small country but was able to spread to around half of south America to countries like Brazil, Venezuela, Guyana, Uruguay, and Suriname.

Chinese, Hindi and Arabic are three other languages, like Russia, that didn't spread anywhere. But also like Russia, the countries themselves is already big compared to another country, so even though it didn't spread, it still is used in quite a lot of lands.

I can conclude that without the age of exploration, the world wouldn't still be able to communicate and each would be alone and there would be thousands of small languages.

SS Mockumentary reflection

1. Did you tell a story or just report information?
We did a mockumentary and I think that we told a story about what happen when the crusaders were at Antioch.
2. What went well?
I think that the thing that went well is our video that is a little bit funny and has information. We didn't have any problems working together and it's a very fun time. And our video is smooth as silk.
3. What was challenging? How would you handle that challenge now?
We didn’t really prepare so much to be a director that we don't really know how many scenes we actually need and we didn’t know much about the green screen that we are supposed to not move our camera because our background went moving all the time even though it's supposed to stay still. If we can do it again, I would like to add more information, set the camera straight and shoot some more scenes to go with the audio.
4. What was enjoyable about creating this project? Did the entertainment part take away the overall message?
I really like shooting video and be the director. I don’t think that the entertainment part take away the overall message and I think that we don't actually have a really funny part but it’s just that the boys acting are funny and there acting support what happen.
5. What did you learn from this project?
I learn how to use the green screen (as I already said that we weren't supposed to move the camera) and how to actually direct other people to act in a real movie.

SS historical fiction blogpost reflection

1. What was enjoyable about writing your narrative? Be specific.
Some things that are enjoyable about writing are such as imagination. Even though a historical fiction need to have real life history but you can still make up story and character and what you want it to do.

2. What was challenging about writing your narrative? Be specific.
As you use your imagination, it need to be appropriate for the period, like you can’t have aliens coming and help which make our imagination maybe a little in the box.

3. Evaluate (describe) your experience as a historical fiction writer. If you had more time, what would you have liked to research further/change about your narrative?
I would like to research about some battles that happen during when my character was travelling and maybe he’ll be in that battle and has more historical events and information.

4. Which crusader primary accounts or other sources did you use to help you replicate the language, events, or tone of your account? Please specify from the list which you found helpful.
I used real accurate information from Letters from the Crusaders the second letter from the web

5. Why did you choose your particular timeframe for your narrative? Was it too much, too little, or just the right amount of time to cover? Please explain.
I think it’s the just right time because my character was used to send letter and the letter doesn’t has the date on it but i know it was after the crusade has captured nicaea (from what the guy wrote in his letter) so I decided to make my character go out traveling around that time and make it the perfect age for him to be about grown-up.

Science Blog post (Summative)

  1. Describe characteristics of different chemical reactions.

Matches . when sulfur are combine with oxygen and spark, it creates fire. On the matches box, it contains red frosferous, which, when has friction, turn into white frosfurous which is unstable and creates a spark. So when the match is rub with the box, it creates friction and the red frosfurous change to white and it creates spark and when the sparks and oxygen hit the solfur which is on the matches, it light up.

Acid/ base . when acid and base are mixed together it creates bubbles which is carbon dioxide, also it create endothermic reaction. Like for example, when baking soda which is a base is mixed with cream of tartar which is an acid, it will creates carbon dioxide bubbles and endothermic reaction.

Color change . a chemical reaction can be shown in color, such as the mixture of indicator and baking soda which turns blue. or the mixture of indicator and baking powder which turns yellow.

  1. Describe the chemical makeup of baking powder.

Cream of tartar - is an acid. the chemical formula is KC4H5O6, it include one potassium, 4 carbon, 5 hydrogen and 6 oxygen.

this two substances is mixed together to creates baking powder.  When acid and base is mixed together and with water, it creates a chemical reaction. When cream of tartar and baking soda ,which is acid and base, is mixed together with water, it creates carbon dioxide which is the bubble reaction that happens when it is added with water.

Baking soda - is a base. the chemical formula NaHCO3, it contains 1 sodium, 1 hydrogen, 1 carbon, and 3 oxygen.

  1. Describe the process you used to determine the unknown substance.(SI1.A)
to determine the unknown substance, we added universal indictor because each powder react to the indicator in different color so we choose to use the indicator. When we put the indictor into the unknown substance, the result is the color is blue which is the color that is shown in the baking soda. So we know that the unknown substance is baking soda.
4. Describe the process you used to determine which two substances make up baking powder (SI1.A)
to determine the substance, we make a mixture of cream of tartar and baking soda, cream of tartar and cornstarch and baking soda and cornstarch, we use the same idea as the unknown substance, or to put the indicator in. we put the indicator in each or the mixture and the mixture that has the nearest color to baking powder is the mixture of cream of tartar and baking soda. We also make sure by putting vinegar in because if it is baking powder, it would bubbles. The result is that it really bubbles so we conclude that the mixture that creates baking powder is baking soda and cream of tartar.
5. What are some important safety considerations for a Middle School Chemistry lab?
some important safety are such as do not horse play, do not eat anything, do not touch thing, to not smell anything because some chemical may be harmful to your body so stay away from things.
