L'homme qui te resemble de René Philombe

L'homme qui te resemble de René Philombe

J’ai frappé à ta porte
J’ai frappé à ton coeur
Pour avoir un bon lit
Pour avoir un bon feu
Pourquoi me repousser?
Ouvre-moi mon frère !…

Pourquoi me demander
Si je suis d’Afrique
Si je suis d’Amérique
Si je suis d’Asie
Si je suis d’Europe ?
Ouvre moi mon frère !..

Pourquoi me demander
La longueur de mon nez
L’épaisseur de ma bouche
La couleur de ma peau
Et le nom de mes dieux,
Ouvre-moi mon frère !…

Je ne suis pas un noir
Je ne suis pas un rouge
Je ne suis pas un jaune
Je ne suis pas un blanc
Mais je ne suis qu’un homme
Ouvre-moi mon frère !…

Ouvre-moi ta porte
Ouvre-moi ton coeur
Car je suis un homme
L’homme de tous les temps
L’homme de tous les cieux
L’homme qui te ressemble !

translation

I knocked at your door
I knocked at your heart
So that I may have a good bed,
So that I may have a warm fire
Why do you refuse me?
Let me in brother!

Why do you ask
If I am African
If I am American
If I am Asian
If I am European?
Let me in brother!

Why do you ask
The length of my nose
The thickness of my mouth
The color of my skin
And the name of my gods?
Let me in brother!

I am not black
I am not red
I am not white
But I am only a man
Let me in brother!

Let me in your door
Let me into your heart
Because I am a man
The man of all times
the man of all the heavens
the man who resembles you

This poem is written by an African man name René Philombe. This poem talks about racism and equality. Everybody is the same. Why do people act differently for different people by how they look, or their nationality, or the color of their skin. This poem promotes equality. All men are the same, all of us are human. I agreed with this poem because I think we are all human, we speak human language, the inside of us is the same, we all, in the end, turn so the same kind of white skeleton and soon decompose to the earth.

A Triumphant First Launch for Elon Musk's Giant Rocket: science summary

A Triumphant First Launch for Elon Musk's Giant Rocket.

On February six at 3:45 PM, a rocket model was brought to life by SpaceX by Elon Musk.  This rocket is called the falcon heavy and is currently holding the title of the world's most powerful rocket right now over the Delta IV Heavy and the Saturn V. Apart from the strength, the Falcon is capable of lifting more weight than other rockets and have the cheapest launch price at only $90 million compare to the Delta IV Heavy at $400 million.
After the Falcon flies up to space, the side boosters detached from the rocket and land safely to earth just around 10 minutes after liftoff. But the center booster which was supposed to land down on a ship in the ocean went off by 100 meters from the ship, hit and sank into the ocean.
Before the day of the launch, Elon Musk was feeling confident and happy about the Falcon's launch which came out well. With the booster detached and back to earth, the upper stage of the rocket with the Tesla car inside orbiting. Then the rocket will fire the engine for the Tesla to go to the orbit around the sun between Earth and Mars. Which Musk expects to orbit for millions of years.
Many was expecting the Falcon to likely burst into flames after all those failures like the explosions in 2015 and 2016 destroyed many things.

Long ago since the 1960s, the idea that a company other than the government can work on rockets and launch it to space was impossible. But SpaceX turned into a normal habit.

To improve, we should make it sweeter, not by adding sugar but add more onion to get the natural sweetness. Also, add more meat because we cant feel anything but sauce.

The protestant reformation

The Protestant Reformation happened after the medieval time. It's the time of Christianity reformation. The reformation of Christian to Protestant, Calvinism, Lutheran and other types of Christianity happened during the period. The reformation happened when people know more about the wrong things that the church was doing, the lies and everything. Like selling indulgence and getting a lot of money. Because of the Gutenberg press, people get to read the bible and realized that the things the priest were telling them and doing to them were all lies. Marthin Luther, a main figure in the period who know about the wrong doing of the church and tried to stop it. With the help of the bible, people know that the church was lying and believe more in him. He also sticks the 95 theses to the door of the church and when people read it, they know more about the church and they start following him, and Lutheran was created. Other people also thought that the church was bad, some have good reasons like John Calvin, some have weird reasons like King Henry. the impact of all these new religions also led to war and split of Christianity and country, but bring back the real Christianity and stop the church corruption. All of this led to the Protestant Christianity which is why the name of the period is the Protestant Reformation.

What i learned in social study 24-25/8/17

The Dome of Florence and The Roman Pantheon. The two architecture was evolutionary at the time, they are very beautiful and they don't have any pillar supporting them! The Roman Pantheon was built so long ago in year 26. the building has a hole the let sunlight come in. And the sun would shine at the different statues inside the building.

The Dome of Florence was built later in the year 1296 and finished in the 15th century. By the time that it was finished, the architect was already dead. The dome was built with no

The arts that were very beautiful was by Michelangelo that was painted in the Sistine Chapel. The paintings are all very religious, like the creation of Adam, the last judgment, or the prophet. Not only religious, Michelangelo painted them very realistically. The body and the background were really realistic.

the painting during the renaissance was really realistic. The mona Lisa and the last supper. They were very realistic. And they have perspective in the painting. With the background in the back, it looks even more realisitc .

What I learned in SS this week

18/8/17

Social Study
This week, we learned about the Renaissance and the period of reformation. What I learn is basically everything because I never know anything about the two periods of history. We learn about how the periods affect us, the key people, and some important events that happen.

In the Renaissance, it's the period of rebirth, arts, music, and science was reborn during this period. Main figures during the time are Leonardo da Vinci or Michelangelo.

During the period of reformation, the church and the clergy were taking too much money from people by selling indulgence. So Martin Luther, a priest and John Calvin, a theologist wanted to change it.  During the period, there was also King Henry the VIII who turn into a Heretic because the pope wouldn't let him a divorce and marry any more women.  It's the period of changing from catholic to protestant.

I want to learn more about the music during the Renaissance.

What I learned this week in L.A.

This week, I learned about Direct and Indirect Characterization

Direct: He is tall
Indirect: he bangs his head on every door in the world if he doesn't bend his leg.

I also learned about assertions and showing evidence

What type of character is Patrick Maloney?

Trait
Evidence from Text
Assertion
1. mean
He shouted at her, he is leaving her, she don't care about what he did for her, and he only care about himself

Quotes:
"Sit down," he said. "Just for a minute, sit down."
--
“Of course, I'll give you money and see that you're taken care of.”
--
"Don't make supper for me. I'm going out."
--
“But there really shouldn't be any problem. I hope not, in any case. It wouldn't be very good for my job."

Patrick shouted at his pregnant wife, he leaves her and his baby, he don't care about her or anything she did for him, and the only thing he did is think only about himself. This shows that he is mean
