Color theory
color theory is about what are the different colors and the color schemes
there are 12 colors in the color wheel.
3 primary : 3 colors that make up every other color : red, yellow, blue
3 secondary : 3 colors that are made up of two of the primary color : orange, green, violet
6 tertiary : 6 colors made up of primary and secondary colors : red-orange, yellow-orange, yellow-green, blue-green, blue-violet, red-violet.
Color schemes are the relationship between different colors. There are six main types of color schemes
Complementary: color opposite to each other
Rectangle: two pairs of complementary colors that doesn't have same distance between each of the colors
Square: two pairs of complementary colors that have same distance between each of the colors
Triadic: 3 colors that have equal distance between each other
Analogous: color next to each other
Split Complementary: one color with two analogous color of the complement but not the complement.
Value is the lightness or darkness of colors. Intensity is the brightness and dullness of colors.
Shade is to add black to a color
Tint is to add white to a color
Tone is to add grey to a color

When was watercolor invented?
Watercolor can be described of as water added with color or pigments. The use of water added with pigments goes back to the caveman. There is no exact date of when the caveman starts to use watercolor but it was sure very long ago before us. These Primitive men used pigments mixed with water to create cave paintings by applying the paint with fingers, sticks, and bones. After that, the ancient Egyptians used water-based paints to decorate the walls of temples and tombs and created some of the first works on paper, made of papyrus.
Who is a watercolor artist you like?
I like Van Gogh's watercolor painting, the Langlois Bridge at Arles. So my preferred artist is Van Gogh. His skills in outlining and adding details with the water and the bridge. His skills in making the clouds with his techniques and many more.
The techniques for watercolor and your strengths and weaknesses with this media.

In class, we learned around 14 techniques.
1. Flat wash
2. Wet on Wet
3. Graded wash
4. Wax resist
5. Dry brush
6. 3 colors graded
7. Sgraffito
8. Dabbing with tissue
9. Wet on dry
10. Straw
11. Salt
12. Spattering
13. Alcohol
14. Stamping
My worst one will be the alcohol because I cannot make the paint spread out from the alcohol but it will mix together leaving a little alcohol line but not good enough to be seen without paying very close attention.
My favorite technique is the graded wash because the change in value is very appealing and looks very good in my perspective and I think that I have done a good job.
Interesting facts/trivia/info about watercolor
wWater color is not hard to make. You can make your own watercolor by 1. A pile of pure ground pigment on a glass palette. 2. Add gum arabic. 3. Add water. 4. Mix with a spatula. Adding a few drops of rubbing alcohol helps the pigments disperse. 5. The result resembles watercolor from tubes. 6. The resulting watercolor paint applied to watercolor paper using a paintbrush.

What is the history of ideas?
The history of ideas is a field of research about expression, preservation, and change of human ideas over time.History of Ideas - ART:
Art started long ago as long as the medieval time. Back then, art was used as a form of advertisement to spread religious ideas.
This picture is an example of an artwork that is used for political means. Then came a guy named Théophile Gautier who argues that art shouldn't be use for religious or political means, but instead, should be used as art. "Art must free itself from the poisonous agendas of religions and governments." which he stated in French as
"L'art pour L'art" which means art for art's sake
What is Art?
Art is how human express ideas or creativity. In visual form such as painting or sculptures. In performing forms such as acting or singing.

L'homme qui te resemble de René Philombe
L'homme qui te resemble de René Philombe
J’ai frappé à ta porte
J’ai frappé à ton coeur
Pour avoir un bon lit
Pour avoir un bon feu
Pourquoi me repousser?
J’ai frappé à ton coeur
Pour avoir un bon lit
Pour avoir un bon feu
Pourquoi me repousser?
Ouvre-moi mon frère !…
Pourquoi me demander
Si je suis d’Afrique
Si je suis d’Amérique
Si je suis d’Asie
Si je suis d’Europe ?
Ouvre moi mon frère !..
Si je suis d’Afrique
Si je suis d’Amérique
Si je suis d’Asie
Si je suis d’Europe ?
Ouvre moi mon frère !..
Pourquoi me demander
La longueur de mon nez
L’épaisseur de ma bouche
La couleur de ma peau
Et le nom de mes dieux,
Ouvre-moi mon frère !…
Je ne suis pas un noir
Je ne suis pas un rouge
Je ne suis pas un jaune
Je ne suis pas un blanc
Mais je ne suis qu’un homme
Ouvre-moi mon frère !…
Ouvre-moi ta porte
Ouvre-moi ton coeur
Car je suis un homme
L’homme de tous les temps
L’homme de tous les cieux
L’homme qui te ressemble !
translation
I knocked at your door
I knocked at your heart
So that I may have a good bed,
So that I may have a warm fire
Why do you refuse me?
Let me in brother!
Why do you ask
If I am African
If I am American
If I am Asian
If I am European?
Let me in brother!
Why do you ask
The length of my nose
The thickness of my mouth
The color of my skin
And the name of my gods?
Let me in brother!
I am not black
I am not red
I am not white
But I am only a man
Let me in brother!
Let me in your door
Let me into your heart
Because I am a man
The man of all times
the man of all the heavens
the man who resembles you
This poem is written by an African man name René Philombe. This poem talks about racism and equality. Everybody is the same. Why do people act differently for different people by how they look, or their nationality, or the color of their skin. This poem promotes equality. All men are the same, all of us are human. I agreed with this poem because I think we are all human, we speak human language, the inside of us is the same, we all, in the end, turn so the same kind of white skeleton and soon decompose to the earth.

A Triumphant First Launch for Elon Musk's Giant Rocket: science summary
A Triumphant First Launch for Elon Musk's Giant Rocket.
On February six at 3:45 PM, a rocket model was brought to life by SpaceX by Elon Musk. This rocket is called the falcon heavy and is currently holding the title of the world's most powerful rocket right now over the Delta IV Heavy and the Saturn V. Apart from the strength, the Falcon is capable of lifting more weight than other rockets and have the cheapest launch price at only $90 million compare to the Delta IV Heavy at $400 million.
After the Falcon flies up to space, the side boosters detached from the rocket and land safely to earth just around 10 minutes after liftoff. But the center booster which was supposed to land down on a ship in the ocean went off by 100 meters from the ship, hit and sank into the ocean.
Before the day of the launch, Elon Musk was feeling confident and happy about the Falcon's launch which came out well. With the booster detached and back to earth, the upper stage of the rocket with the Tesla car inside orbiting. Then the rocket will fire the engine for the Tesla to go to the orbit around the sun between Earth and Mars. Which Musk expects to orbit for millions of years.
Many was expecting the Falcon to likely burst into flames after all those failures like the explosions in 2015 and 2016 destroyed many things.
Long ago since the 1960s, the idea that a company other than the government can work on rockets and launch it to space was impossible. But SpaceX turned into a normal habit.

Women rights around the world
This week, we learned about women's right. There are lots of country in the world that doesn't have equal right between women and men. We learn about them in Asia, North America, Europe, and Africa. I and my group got assigned to Europe. We study and found out that Europe doesn't have a lot of problems with women rights. But have some in less developed country. One country that really pops out is Andora, Andora doesn't have equal rights in government or jobs. Some sexual violence but not as harsh as in Africa. In Africa, women can't go to school, they don't have their rights, the cant stand up for themselves so over thousands and thousands of women get child marriage and rape, worse of all, they have traditions of genital mutilation which is used to control women from having something with men because men can't control themselves. Or in Asia, men think that women are nothing but a housewife and take care of children. And lastly, in North America, that women are being domestically abused. All these problems happen because of men. They feel like they are in power and women are under them. Or like the genital mutilation, if men learn to control themselves, so to improve this, we should have laws and educated men and women.

My way of annotating
When annotating, I use highlighter, sticky notes, small bookmarkers and pen or pencil. When I annotate, I divide my highlighter into different colors that mean different things. Some to highlight the main idea, the conflict, the character name, the shocking things or the development in the story. Then I/ use my sticky note to write my opinion about the text or use to a summary a little bit if it gets complicated. Then I use the small bookmarkers to mark the important pages such as the conflict page or other interesting pages so I can see easily. Also, I use the same color of highlighter and bookmarkers for the same topic of use so it is even more clear and easy to see and find.
